BATHTUBS
There are four (4) materials from which bathtubs can be made: acrylics, cultured marble, fiberglass, and porcelain (over steel or cast iron). Although preparation steps differ depending on the type of material being refinished (see The Process), we can professionally refinish all bathtub types to look, clean, and feel like new again.
A "standard" size tub is a 5 foot rectangle. Acrylic and fiberglass bathtubs can be rectangular, oval, round, or square-shaped, as well as oversized (like the ones pictures below) and jetted. However, some acrylic and fiberglass tubs are actually part of a one-piece wall unit. How can you tell if your bathtub is actually part of a wall unit and not a "stand-alone" tub? Look for a caulk line that clearly separates the bathtub from the walls surrounding it. If there is no caulk line, then yours is a 1-piece wall unit. Unfortunately, this means that even though only the tub may need refinishing, we must refinish the entire wall unit - again, because it is all one big molded piece of material.
If your acrylic or fiberglass bathtub is part of a one-piece unit, or a shape or size other than a 5 foot rectangle, we will need pictures and 3 measurements to give you a bid. When taking these measurements, do not dip down into the tub. Instead, just measure straight across the tub from front to back for length; side to side for width; and for the height, measure from the outside of the tub starting at the bathroom floor and go straight up vertically to the top of the tub.
With pictures and these 3 measurements, we will be able to give you an accurate bid. The best pictures will include specific images of any damage (rust, chips, stains, cracks, pits), as well as an overall image of the tub so that I can see how it sits in the room.
